* Dream Team

Starters

Goalkeeper – McMath $5.1 COL: Arguably the best keeper this week on the best defense in the league.  McMath is a solid option for the long haul.

Defender – Sjoberg $5.6 COL: Cheap defenders are always welcome, and one on a DGW as part of the best defense in the league makes Sjoberg a must have.

Defender – Parker $6.6 VAN: Another quality option at defense with a favorable matchup.

Defender – Campbell $5.3 CHI: Back to back DGWs for a cheap defender.  Definitely needs to be in the roster.

Midfielder – Valeri $10.5 POR: Still the best BP producing midfielder despite a lackluster round 9.  The DGW and future potential makes him a must have.

Midfielder – Diaz $10.6 DAL: Another great midfielder with a DGW.

Midfielder – Jones $8.2 COL: Jones has been one of the hottest midfielders since returning from suspension.  Since he’s still slotted at the #10 for Colorado, his production should continue through the DGW.

Midfielder – Pontius $7.2 PHI: Pontius has been solid for Philly all season and two DGWs over three rounds earn him a place if wildcarding

Forward – Adi $10.3 POR: One of the three most prominent forwards on a DGW.  If going all out, this is the leading guy although he might be subject to rotation.

Forward – Urruti $8.5 DAL: Urruti is arguably the best forward under $9.0 and a DGW week including a match against his former club should lead to a nice score.

Forward – Sapong $8.2 PHI: One of the early season comeback players to watch, Sapong has been on the radar for a while and multiple DGWs make him hard to pass on.

Subtotal: $86.1

Subs

Goalkeeper – Blake $4.9 PHI

Defender – Steres  $5.2 LA

Defender – Gullien $4.0 DAL

Midfielder – McNamara $7.3 NYC

Forward – Giovinco $12.5 NYC

Subtotal: $33.9

This is by far the deepest bench suggested so far.  McNamara and Giovinco will likely be starting on lots of rosters this week, but the DGW potential edges them out.  Both get included in preparation for the upcoming DGWs.  Three bench players that play in round 13 help fill out this squad and keep it in the mix until after the break. With three transfers following a Wildcard use, managers can easily switch this roster up to include Kljestan and two others from the Round 11 DGW teams.

Total Cost: $120

Captain

Take your pick from the attacking options available.  Any one of them is primed to have a great week.

  1. “McMath is a solid option for the long haul.”

You’d have to overlook that small signing known as Tim Howard for this to be true.

    • I keep forgetting about him. He’s not who he used to be and he really hasn’t played lately. I’m sure he’ll get the start, but I’m not sure he deserves them. But Colorado threw money around and want to fill seats. You would think being top of the West would fill the seats.
