Best XI Predictions – Round 20

Best XI Predictions - Round 20

Did you ever wonder what you could do with a team if you used a Wild Card every week?  In Best XI at $120m, we will explore the options available to brand new players as well as those using a Wild Card as we predict the rounds Dream Team. Along with the best players by round match-up, players with the best upcoming schedules will take precedence over similarly priced players.

Starters

Goalkeeper – Rowe $5.1 LAG: Rowe is one of the leading go to keepers right now. His price is right with lots of production for a team that is surging towards the playoffs.

Defender – Sjoberg $6.2 COL: Hes the best defender on the cheap end.

Defender – Steres $5.5 LAG: Cheap starter with lots of potential.

Defender – Campbell $5.1 CHI: Cheap starter with no byes.

Midfielder – Piatti $11.1 MTL: Montreal are hosting Philly this week, potentially without Drogba.  With questions about Diaz and Valeri going up against the stout LA Defense, he’s arguably the best midfielder for the week.

Midfielder – Grella $8.2 NYRB: Grella gets the call over Felipe as a better consistent bonus point scorer at a slightly cheaper price.  With NY playing NYC, this one could result in tons of goals and it’s not worth risking missing out.

Midfielder – Kljestan $12.2 NYRB: Kljestan was on fire last week and is playing the NY derby this week.  Expect more solid form from him.

Midfielder – Feilhaber $11.3 SKC: He’s home against a Seattle side that is still bottom of the West.  If SKC can hold the ball, Benny will be in the mix all night long.

Forward – Giovinco $13.0 TFC: Altidore is coming back which is usually beneficial for Giovinco.  The slump has to end soon and no manager wants to be on the wrong end of that.

Forward – Kamara $8.7 CLB: He’s on terror and virtually a must own at this point considering his price.  He’s got a bye week on the way, but he’s definitely worth having especially going up against Orlando.

Forward – Kamara $11.2 NE: We’ll take the other Kamara this week.  He’s slowly getting into a rhythm with NE and he’s got a matchup at home against Chicago

Subtotal: $97.6

Subs

Goalkeeper – Gleeson $4.7 POR

Defender – Glad $4.9 RSL

Defender – Guillen $4.0 DAL

Midfielder – McKendry $4.0 VAN

Forward – Hollinger-janzen $4.5 NE

Subtotal: $22.1

Total: $119.7

This lineup is all about go big or go home.  It’s the end of the season and DGWs are no existent.  Take advantage of the opportunities and don’t take major risks.  The last thing any manager wants is to miss out on a premium player have a monster game and losing ground.  The odds of that are greater than picking differentials correctly often enough to make up the difference.

Captain

The safe pick is Sacha Kljestan.  He’s coming off a massive game and he’s playing against NYC.  Ola Kamara and Giovinco are both solid options poised to give great returns, but the low point duds from forwards can leave you wanting.
