Week 14 summary
Week 14 was OK. We were really let down by our defense, but no big complaints overall all, we still finished over the average and moves up in a few of our leagues. The one big heart attack was how Mike Magee would do. After missing the 1v1 against the keeper, we thought it was over, but he was able to grab one in the end and make our week respectable.
Week 15 Changes
Three free trades this week! Woo hoo! And boy did we use all of those this week. These trades were all about taking advantage of this week and Week 16. We started with our keeper. We like Troy Perkins, but neither of our keepers had a game this week and Irwin has a double next week. To replace him we grabbed Bobby Shuttleworth. We love the New England vs DC matchup this week. DC has only scored one goal on the road and that is a stats we just can’t overlook.
Our next two trades were to overhaul our defense. Todd Dunivant does not look good for starting and Jamison Olave has some bye weeks. So they were easy to drop. We replaced Olave with Djimi Traore who has been a great point getter for several weeks. The second replacement was a little harder to pick. We thought about getting another New England defender, but we had other plans for them and none of the others teams really stood out to us for a clean sheet. So we decided to make a prep pick for Week 16. We settled on Andy O’Brien from Vancouver. We like his defensive bonus point generation ability, and the matchups they have for each of their two upcoming home games.
Our final trade, yeah that’s right we took a -4, was for Diego Fagundez. We wanted to get him on our team in the coming weeks, but with the form he has been in, his price was going to skyrocket. So we decided now was a good time and we might get a shot at some attacking points against DC. So he replaced Dominic Oduro.
Week 16 Prep
I’ve been working on an article about how many DGW players you need for Week 16, and that’s basically what our prep al all about: how to best take advantage of the double game week. After that, it’s wild card time!
