Didier Drogba: Montreal and Toronto have both secured their spots in the playoffs, but not they have to duke it out to see if either of them can avoid the knockout round. That puts a lot on the line for each team but Didier Drogba is the player who gets my not to top captain pick. Yes, this has a lot of to with the proven goal scoring form that Drogba has (especially when 7 of his 9 goals have come at home) but more influential is Toronto HORRID away defensive record. Over 16 games, Toronto has allowed 34 goals and I think that number will go up today.

Sebastian Giovinco: After almost a decade, Toronto has finally made it to the Playoffs! Though, this season and Cup format change seemed designed to make that happen. Regardless of how, we can all agree that this opportunity was brought to them by Sebastian Giovinco and with him just one goal away from winning the Golden Boot, his team is sure to do everything they can to make that happen. He’s clear quality, but the same can not be said for Toronto’s defense and that’s why he comes in as a strong second in my rankings.

Cyle Larin: Rounding out my top three is Cyle Larin and this pick is again driven by the defensive form of his opponent. Philadelphia has allowed 19 goals over 16 home games and they have been knocked out of the playoffs. This is an ideal game to just rest players and start rebuilding for next season for the Union. But lets’ give credit where credit is due, Larin has been on fire over his past three games and his form clearly earns him a spot is this list.
