MLSFB Player Roundup – Round 12

Round 11 started slow for many people but really turned around in the end. Perhaps this week will be much the same with games spread out over 4 days! I’ll have to keep things short this week. All of these DGW are really a killer and my schedule has not been very good for giving me free time 🙁

Keepers:

Unless you’ve been under a rock, you know it’s a big DGW. 4 teams are playing, but there are only a couple of keeper’s I’d consider. LA’s Jamie Panedo has 2 home games this week and DC’s Bill Hamid has been on good form recently and both come at a good price. If you are worried about the lack of clean sheets, take a look at Bobby Shuttleworth, New England is on the best form right now and have really taken a lot of people by surprise.

Defenders:

Building off of the 2 home games that I mentioned above, LA has a couple of cheap options and I think you should have at least 1. Dan Gargan is one and he has been racking up an assist every few games. The other is Kofi Opare who had some fantastic CBI number last week and will be filling in while Gonzales is with the USMNT. Looking at form, Bobby Boswell is another DGW player that is worth getting, though he’s pricy. New England is again my favorite SGW team and they have 2 good options (depending on your budget). Andrew Farrell has been racking up nice CBI numbers since Goncalves has been injured and Chris Tierney has earned 2 assists in his last 2 games.

Midfielders:

A lot of the big midfield names have been called up for the World Cup, but there are a few great options still in the running for this week. The top of that list is Javier Morales and Diego Valeri. Both have finally started to find the form that we came to expect from last season and could be in for some big games. As for DGW players, Stefan Ishizaki is a guy that I really like this week. He’s going to be more of a focus without Landon in the mix and he’s been on great form. As for the other DGW teams, these are my favorites in order: Chris Rolfe, Fabian Castillo, and Giles Barnes.

Forwards:

These pics are easier, especially now that we have an update fro LA and Ireland. Robbie Keane is back, and that bumps him up to the top of my list followed by Fabian Espindola. Besides these two, I don’t like many of the DGW forward options. I’d much rather stick with people like Obafemi Martins, Federico Higuain, or Joao Plata.

Did I miss any players that should be on this list? Please leave us a comment. You can also send a message to me on Twitter @MLSFantasyBoss, or join the Live Chat in the sidebar. Keep checking back for more updates throughout the week. Good Luck!
