Predictions and Power Rankings – Round 4

Round 3 was much more successful than Round 2. Of the the nine games that were played, there were 5 Wins, 1 Loss, and 3 Draw. Since a draw counts as half a win (because both teams get a point), the system ended with a success rate of 88% for predicting which team would get points out of a game.

  1. how do you come up with these percentages?

    • I use the ELO system and have corresponding numbers for Wins, Losses, and Draws that go back to the start of MLS. I just plug the results in to my spreadsheet and the calculations are made.
