KFC Team Week 11

Keep reading for the breakdown of our transfers.

Week 10 summary

I can’t complain too much about week 10 because the KFC team did finish 21 points over the average, but still, it did not go as I hoped. The best part about the week was Irwin getting a clean sheet against Toronto. But the worst was the SKC game. Besler did not play and our shot with Collin as captain did not pan out like hoped. That’s what we get for doubting Zusi I guess. BUT, we’re in a good position for week 11.

Week 11 Changes

Or so I thought. Dallas and Kansas City had some late injury reports and then New York decided it was time to rest some players. This threw our plans into a loop and when you combine that with the Brad Davis mistake we made last week, some unplanned negatives had to be taken.

So, first, sort out our back line. Originally Olave was one of the players on the chopping block, but with the late news that Besler would most likely miss the first game for SKC, we decided to take a chance that Olave might play at New England. This meant that Besler had to go. Loved having him, but he was slated to leave soon anyway. His replacement, differential pick Rodney Wallace. We like that he’s a defender who is playing as a forward and that he has the ability to score. We also like that Portland is playing a Kennedy-less Chivas. Dallas could yield a goal, but we hope not!

Next was Midfield. There were two big changed here. First, we dropped Clark and brought back Brad Davis. This needed to be done to fix the mistake from last week because we really wanted him for these two games. Second, we needed to make some room in our budget for this week and to prep for our week 12 plans. Originally we wanted Jacobson, but his injury made us look elsewhere. Sam Cronin was first to come to mind, but we really find his numbers to be inflated from last week. Brandon Barklage was next, but he’s also slated to rest. So in the end, we went super cheap and grabbed a guy that has some home games coming up and a game in week 15, Kelyn Rowe. Let’s be honest, after this week, he’s a benchwarmer.

Our final trade was a forward. We knew we were dropping one New York player this week, and Mr. Week Knees Mc Henry is the guy. He does not play on turf so we were basically assured to only get one game out of him. His replacement…Chris Wondolowsk. I know, we’ve been hard on him all season, but the numbers just look right. Two easy games, most of the starters from last season are back, and looks to be on form with one goal and one assist in his last two games. Two shots to be a hero this week Wondo, don’t let us down.

Everything else was easy, Perkins in the goal and the rest of our single game week players on the bench. The captains band went to Zusi. Lesson learned!

Week 12 Prep

Expect to see some more LA in our lineup next week and we’re going to start on a transition schedule for week 15.
