KFC’s MLS Fantasy Captain picks – Week 11

captain-MLSHave you decided on your captain yet? Our early survey seems to imply that is the case, and it looks like people are focusing on the reliable pick. Still, the double game week does make a few other players seem tempting. Do you have plans to pick a differential captain?

Keep reading to see who our picks are.

Options

  • Chris Wondolowski
Forwards are always a risk, and more people are realizing this as the season goes on. This is one of the few weeks that Wondo looks slightly tempting because of two reasons 1) an easy schedule and 2) the return of many players that were injured. Tempting, but still risky.
  • Ryan Johnson
The only forwards who actually got a vote in our early poll. With the news that Dallas might be resting a couple of players, perhaps that will give some hope. Chivas looks better but we still think he’s a long shot.
  • Graham Zusi
Leader of our early poll and the most reliable choice. Not much else to say.
  • Brad Davis
Even though they are away, DC is just playing poorly. Davis is also fully rested after coming back from his red card. The Kansas City game makes his a bit risky for the captain choice, perhaps the VC is better.
  • David Ferreira
Two home games and the lack of Jacobson and Jackson in Dallas’s first game could make Ferreira the go to man for goals against Portland. A very tempting option.
  • Matt Hedges
Runner-up in our early poll. He has two home games and gets big points. A great option if you don’t have Zusi.
  • Rodney Wallace
If you feel like taking a risk, go with Wallace. He’s a defender who plays as a forward. Some goals could mean big bucks for a manager who likes to live on the edge. No promises here though.
  • Raul Fernandez
If you feel like a keeper deserves the captain armband, then we like Fernandez. Two home games and a tough defense makes him standout to us and others.

Top 3

  • Graham Zusi
Not much to say here. If you have Zusi, give him the cap. He can score points without goals and has two chances to do that this week.
  • Matt Hedges
The double home game, excellent bonus point generating record, and strong defensive history makes him the obvious 2nd choice to us.
  • Chris Wondolowski
Most people are sticking with Kansas City and Dallas for captain choices, but we think Wondo is promising enough to make it into our top three.

Runner-up

  • David Ferreira
We think Portland and DC are going to be easy games for Dallas and Ferreira should get several chances to score.

So who do you think is a must have? Vote now and let everyone know.
