KFC’s MLS Fantasy Captain picks – Week 4

captain-MLSInternational duty, what a bitch right? A lot of the best go-to captains are either injured, on a bye, or on international duty. The only good thing about that means that the list is short this week.  Keep reading for the list.

Options

  • Bill Hamid
Say what? A keeper as a captain? Definitely a risk, but is one that could pay off if DC is able to hold a clean sheet against Columbus. Hamid has had two fantastic games this season and it’s not hard to see why he’s the most popular keeper and only costs $5.2.
  • Mike Magee
LA had a “rough” game against Chivas last week but this week they have a chance to make up for it against Colorado. Keane is gone and the rumor is the Magee may be playing up top in his place. If he does, he may be able to add to his goal total.
  • David Ferreira
Ferreira has a great offensive record so far this season. In three games he has earned 2 assists and 1 goal. Dallas is playing a Real Salt Lake team that has lost a lot of its starting defense. These conditions definitely make Ferreira one of the standout captain options.
  • Daigo Kobayashi
Kobayashi has started the year with 1 assist and a screamer of a goal against Columbus. He has the added bonus of being involved with Vancouver’s set plays. The Whitecaps are playing a weakened Houston this week, but that does not mean it will be a walk in the park. But Kobayashi is looking to be a play maker.
  • Federico Higuaín
Higuaín looks to be one of the stand out forwards this year and not because he is a goal scorer, but because he plays in midfield. This puts him in a good position to earn bonus points alongside his goals.

Top 3

  • David Ferreira
His scoring record and the RSL losses make him our top choice. The odds seem to be in his favor this week.
  • Federico Higuaín
We can’t say good enough things about this guy. Play maker and goal scorer and even if he does not score, you could still rack up some bonus points.
  • Mike Magee
With Keane gone Magee looks like a good option for the go to guy for LA. IF he does play up top, it could pay off.

Runner-up

  • Juan Agudelo
Chicago has lost their starting Keeper and is just struggling in general. This could be another winnable game for Chivas.

So who do you think is a must have? Vote now and let everyone know.
