MLSFB Player Roundup – Round 13

So Round 12…. how about that. Last year I took a big hit because I dod not have Donovan and Keane one week, and it just happened again this week. Combine that with a poor captain pick and I managed to fall almost 200 places with that I thought was a decent score. That just goes to show how close the game is in the upper ranks. (Good Think the /r/FantasyMLS league is giving prizes to the top 4!)

Due to the SUPER quick turnaround for Round 13, this article will be very brief. Overall, I’ve highlighted DGW players for this week but also taken a look at Round 14 before Wild Card-a-Palooza starts.

Good Luck!

Keepers:

I’v stopped hoping for clean sheets at this point, but a DGW keeper should still have good odds at a respectable score: Eric Kronberg (13.6% @ $5.3m), Donovan Ricketts (8.7% @ $5.8m), and the long shot is Dan Kennedy (4.4% @ 16.9m).

Defenders:

If you want a SKC defender, Seth Sinovic (6.3% @ $8.5m) is really the only one you can count on. There is talk that Collin is fit again, but he may not play a full 180 this round. Pa-Modou Kah (0.7% @ $8.2m) has good CBI numbers and his low ownership makes him a differential option, but his price is high. If you think Chivas has a shot as a clean sheet, then grab Carlos Bocanegra (4.6% @ $6.9m), but I would be surprised.

As for the rest. Drew Moor (25.8% @ $7.6m) has a decent shot at a clean sheet this week with the rom Houston has been on, and has a DGW in round 14.

Midfielders:

Even with the DW, Javier Morales (17.7% @ $11.2) is still my top midfield option. Diego Valeri (13.9% @ $10.4m) is the best option from the DGW teams followed by  Mauro Rosales (12.2% @ $75m). The SKC options have just been disappointing, but I like Sal Zizzo (3.8% @ $6.0m) if he’s able to play both games. Since he’s back, you may want to consider jumping on the Landon Donovan (9.9% @ $10.7m) train for the next couple of weeks.

Forwards:

One of the better Chivas picks this round is actually Erik Torres (18.0% @ $8.7m). SKC also has a good forward pick in Dominic Dwyer (17.1% @ $8.5m) who is the current co-leader for most goals this season. Other reasonable options include: Urruti, Espindola, and Keane. No reason to go crazy with differentials this round.
