2018 Round 33 Captain’s conundrum

Round 33 in the MLS gets underway today, So I have taken a look at the best options to make your Fantasy captain this week. Picking the right captain this week , could see you claw back points on the leaders of your league , or even extend the gap at the top. Here’s my top picks for this week.

Carlos Darwin Quintero / Minnesota / $14.3 Million / vs Colorado

A perfect match up for Carlos Darwin Quintero and Minnesota this week against Colorado. Colorado have lost their last seven matches in a row, and with nothing to play for should be easy pickings for Minnesota.  Quintero hasn’t been in the best of form in recent weeks, but if any player at Minnesota is going to perform well and step up in this game then it will be Quintero.

Carlos Vela / LAFC / $12.6 Million / vs Houston

Vela and LAFC face Houston who sit 10th in the Western Conference. Vela is a solid captain choice his week, he hasn’t scored or assisted a goal in his last two appearances for LAFC. However, he still is averaging 7.8 fantasy points per week. So, if you not wanting to roll the dice in the last few weeks of the season then Vela offers a solid floor in the captain spot.

Luciano Acosta / DC / $12.5 Million / vs Dallas

Six goals in his last five matches for DC is impressive going from the DC man. While it’s now or never for DC, who are still fighting for a play-off spots and will be relying heavily on Acosta and Rooney to show up for United. Acosta has turned up for DC in big moments of the season and this round and the next few, are season defining moments for DC.
