Don’t forget to vote in the MLS Fantasy Boss Round 2 Captain poll!
Clint Dempsey: Clearly the runaway winner of the captain poll and easily my #1 captain choice. Dempsey has almost double the votes as his teammate Obafemi Martins who is currently second and after his two goal performance last week, it’s not surprising. We can’t count on another PK, but another goal and and assist is quite possible against San Jose.
Octavio Rivero: He showed a lot of promise during preseason and reinforced his goal scoring potential during the game against Toronto. I believe Chicago’s defense will prove to be easier than Toronto’s and we should expect Rivero to come away with points during this match.
Giles Barnes: A great performance against Columbus and a game tonight against an Orlando team without Collin are enough reasons for me to feel good about Houston’s chances to grab another win. I’m normally all about Brad Davis’s bonus points, but that’s more to cover your butt in case things don’t go well. For raw goals, I like Barnes this week.
Long Shot
Cristian Maidana: After seeing RSL struggle against the Portland offense, I have high hopes for Philly who also have impressive attacking players. I’m not sure yet if RSL’s defense is going to struggle all year, or if we only say an isolated event credited to new players and a road game. But if Maidana does start, I think he’ll pull the strings and be involved in the fantasy points that are generated.
