Having trouble deciding on who to pick for your captain? Here are a few things to keep in mind. Is the team playing at home? Are there any key injuries (on either team)? Who had a good Preseason? Did Andrew Wiebe see his shadow this morning?All of these things help. Here are my top choices:
The DGW Picks
1) Lloyd Sam: He’s been one of the brighter stars for NY so far this season. You can usually expect a couple of bonus points from him and goals and assists are always possible.
2) Horst/Taylor: Defenders are just too risky for me to go with one of them as a number 1 this week. At best, HOU can get a draw at NY and a win when Portland comes to Houston. These players could easily come away with 20 points with a week like that…but it could also be 8-12. One of the more risky DGW picks in my opinion.
The Single Game Week Players
1) Clint Dempsey: He scored well on the road and now it’s time for a run of home games. Have to give credit where credit is due.
2) Federico Higuain: I like him, I love him, I want more points from him. NY is a big game for CLB and I think last week was a blip on his point scoring radar. He’s always the safe fall back captain choice.
3) Graham Zusi or Kyle Beckerman: Flip a coin for this one… No wait, I like home teams right? These two are on par for me for this round.
