For those who don’t get the chance to visit r/FantasyMLS often, for the past couple of weeks, OlderGoaler has been running a poll to allow or community to vote for the 2016 MLS Fantasy Mid-Season MVP. Why should MLS get to have all the fun with their All-Star team voting? The only problem is that the traits that make a good All-Star, don’t always carry over to a great Fantasy player.
So after two weeks, the numbers have been tallied and I’m happy to present the results of who the r/FantasyMLS community believes are the MLS Fantasy Mid-Season MVPs.
[Break]2016 MLS Fantasy Mid-Season MVP Voting Results
I’ll start with the final results, because I know that is what what want to see, but if you keep reading below, you can see some on the interesting notes that OlderGoaler took from this survey and a link to the top results from each position.
Survey Notes
- Blake beat MacMath by just two votes, with Worra not far behind (all three are “budget” GKs, so you could easily afford and rotate two of these three… while Worra was still active at least)
- budget Sjoberg beat out more expensive Coelho (very different prices but both seen as great value)
- Zimmerman beat out Steres and Campbell by a just a few votes
- Valeri and Gio tied for most votes overall (Valeri more consistent while Gio more boom and bust)
- Ola was the only Kamara to receive votes (sorry Kei)
- only 1 vote for Jorales and 1 for vote Porales (sorry Orales’s)
- 2016 is not Ethan Finlay’s year (just 1 vote)
- Nguyen Pontius McNamara all tied for the fifth midfield spot, but they are distant in votes behind other mids and forwards
- should Urruti at only 4 votes be higher based on the early part of the season? (by comparison Adi had 13 votes)
- BWP and Larin in the fourth and fifth forward spot, just one vote apart, behind Plata
- how many of these MVPs will keep this status going forward?
