Piatti: The Canadian derby kicks things off this week and that provides two very tempting captain options for MLS Fantasy managers. On one side there is Piatti, the highest scoring player in the game so far. On the other, there is Giovinco, who is always sitting on the potential for an explosive game. In the end, I lean toward Piatti as the better choice of the two and this is mostly due to the Montreal defense which has not allowed a goal in either of their home games. That tells me that Gio may have the harder time between the two.
Kaka: After missing the first three games due to injury, Kaka has been a point generating MACHINE. He’s a classic goal and bonus point threat and does not seem to be slowing down now. Even though Orlando is on the road this week, they are going up against a New York Red Bulls team that is licking its wound and trying to find the mojo that catapulted them to top of the Supporter’s Shield race last year. If the Red Bulls continue to play this week as they have in the past, Kaka has the skill to make them pay and reward any manager who gives him the armband.
Higuain: My first two captain picks are players that are likely to be on many teams, however, if you’re someone who likes to go against the crows, then you should enjoy seeing the Higuain rounds out my top three. Both Higuains and Meram have been turning up the heat lately for Columbus, but Higuain is the much more consistent of the two. Not convinced yet? Well how about I throw in the Houston has one of the worst records for keeping the ball out of the net on the road (5 goals over 2 games). This games screams potential for the Crew and Higuain.
