Round 15 in the MLS gets underway tonight, So I have taken a look at the best options to make your Fantasy captain this week. Picking the right captain this week , could see you claw back points on the leaders of your league , or even extend the gap at the top. Here’s my top four picks for this week.
Alberth Elis / Houston Dynamos / $10.9 Million / vs Colorado
Alberth Elis heads into round 15 off the back of a disappointing round 14 showing against Montreal. Elis only picked up one point last week and didn’t even managed to play the full 90.
This week Houston face Colorado. The Dynamos did end a two-game losing streak during the weak against NTX Rayados in the US Open Cup. However, Elis was among a number of first teamers rested in the match. So, the forward will head into the game fresh and looking to continue his form which did see him score four goals in his last three games prior to the Montreal game.
David Villa / NYCFC / $11.8 Million / vs Atlanta
The Spaniard started as a sub in NYCFC’s last game in the MLS against Orlando. However, he did start against NYRB in midweek. Though Villa and NYCFC would have been really disappointed in the performance, after losing 4-0.
This week NYCFC face Atlanta, with the chance to take first place in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta have only won one of their last three games in the MLS and, with the forward scoring three goals in his last two starts for NYCFC. Villa will be relishing the game against United in front of his own fans this week.
Mauro Diaz / FC Dallas / $10.4 million / vs Montreal
Mauro Diaz earned fantasy owners seven points last week, which is even more impressive he reached that mark without providing a goal or an assist. Diaz’s numbers have dropped off in recent weeks. The midfielder hasn’t scored a goal for FC Dallas since week 8’s game against Philadelphia.
However, this week’s game against Montreal will be Diaz’s best chance of ending his drought. Montreal have the worse defence in the MLS, conceding 29 goals, so far this season. While FC Dallas head into the game off the back of a three-game winning streak.
Victor Vazquez / Toronto / $9.2 million / vs Philadelphia (Wildcard)
Victor Vazquez heads in to round 15 in great form, the midfielder scored and assisted a goal in last week’s 3-3 draw with Columbus Crew. This week Toronto face Philadelphia who head in to the game off a back of a 3-1 defeat to Atlanta in round 14. Though they did win 5-0 in the US Open Cup during the week.
Toronto did beat the Union 3-0 in the reverse fixture in May. So, a repeat of that score line would be pleasing for Toronto. It would also be Toronto’s first win since the middle of May.
ya dont know who catain ive got diaz ellis Martinez and Ibrahimovic
Think all bar Ibra are good choices , Diaz is probably the best option . Atlanta are away at NYCFC so not the easiest of games for Martinez.
