Every week, I’m going to go over my suggestions from last week, and determine if they were a good or bad pick based on position and points. To describe in detail the ranking system, here is the metric: bust = 4 or fewer points (or not starting/on the bench), average = 5-6 points, good = 7-8 points, great = 9+ points. Players not available for selection I am disregarding and not counting as a positive or negative in the article.
DGW Scoring: Bust = 6 or fewer, Average = 7-9, Good = 10-12, Great = 13+
- Tim Parker – DNP
- Joel Waterman – Good (8 points)
- Jakob Glesnes – Average (5 points)
- Richie Laryea – Average (5 points)
- Dany Rosero – Great! (10 points)
- Steven Moreira – Great! (9 points)
Week 21 Final Results: 2 Great, 1 Good, 2 Average
2023 Full Season Results: 20 Great, 16 Good, 18 Average, 46 Bust
Oh joy a big double game week! That’s okay, I am extremely happy with the results from last week in our special edition. After seeing how good defense picks went, I debated doing another special week, but we’ll save that for a future week. Back to our regularly scheduled diffeRANCHals. Let’s get into it!
Miles Robinson, $8.2m (Atlanta Defender)
Miles has been on a hot streak in fantasy. His last 4 weeks are 13, 9, 8, and 11. Impressive stats to say the least. One of these games he had a goal, another he had an assist. Should Atlanta figure out how to keep a cleansheet in at least 1 of their two games this week, Miles has a chance to stay in high point totals.
Joel Waterman, $8.9m (Montreal Defender)
Let us rinse and repeat. See how it turns out!
Xande Silva, $8.9m (Atlanta Midfielder)
The new Atlanta midfielder opened his MLS account with a goal and an assist, lifting the Five-Stripes to a 4-0 victory. Although Atlanta has a tough Wednesday game against Cincinnati, I still feel as though Xande can show what he brings to the Atlanta team. Keep an eye on this new product!
Xerdian Shaqiri, $8.2m (Chicago Midfielder)
You all know who I am talking about when I list Shaqiri as a diffeRANCHal pick. It’s true, he isn’t really a diffeRANCHal, but instead a differenCLR (bad joke, I know). Anyways, here me out. Shaqiri hosts Vancouver on Wednesday and then travels to a DC United team on the weekend. With the shaky Vancouver defense and the abysmal United defense, Shaqiri very well could produce some amazing stat lines this DGW.
Aaron Boupendza, $9.0m (Cincinnati Forward)
Maybe he will surprise us this week and show why Cincinnati paid so much for him?
Christian Ramirez, $8.4m (Columbus Forward)
Sometimes picking “Superman” is the way to go. Even though Columbus is on a double away game week, I still believe that Ramirez will be the starter in both matches. With this knowledge and the fact that Columbus has been red hot, I could see Superman scoring a goal or two.
