Round 6 in the MLS gets underway tonight, So I have taken a look at the best options to make your Fantasy captain this week. Picking the right captain this week , could see you claw back points on the leaders of your league , or even extend the gap at the top. Here’s my top four picks for this week.
Josef Martinez / Atlanta United / $11.5 Million / vs LAFC
Josef Martinez disappointed fantasy owners last week as he scored 3 points against Minnesota United. However Martinez has another chance to repay the faith fantasy managers have shown in the forward in week 6. Atlanta Face LAFC looking to pick up their fourth win on the bounce.
Atlanta have scored 7 goals in their last 2 home games , with Martinez bagging himself a hat trick in United’s last home game. While it seems LAFC are still trying to find the balance between attacking flair and defensive stability, and it maybe the latter what will get the most examination. As Atlanta have had 32 shots in their last 2 home games. LAFC face a tough task when they travel to Atlanta this week ,
Dom Dwyer / Orlando City / $9.5 Million / vs Portland Timbers
Dom Dwyer has had a delayed start to the season with Orlando City , however Dwyer made up for lost time in week 5 . Orlando beat New York Redbulls 4-3 in an end to end game , with Dywer bagging himself 2 goals. With just over an hour of game time played the forward should be fit and ready to start against Portland Timbers this weekend .
The Timbers have conceded 7 goals in their last three games and are yet to win a match this season. So Dwyer will be extremely confident of adding to his goal tally in week 6. While Orlando will be looking to pick up their second home victory of the season , after their impressive victory over the Redbulls
Mauro Diaz / FC Dallas / $10.3 Million / vs Colorado Rapids
Mauro Diaz has had an decent start to the 2018 season , however the midfielder is yet to net for Dallas . Diaz has picked up 20 fantasy points this year , an average of 6.67 points per week . Which is disappointing for a high value player .
However Diaz will be looking to this weekend’s game to notch his first goal of the season . FC Dallas have scored 4 goals in their last two games and will need Diaz’s attacking ability to break down a Colorado side who kept there first clean sheet of the year against the Union in week 5.
CJ Sapong / Philadelphia Union / $9.9 Million / vs San Jose Earthquakes (Wildcard)
After an impressive week one performance both CJ Sapong and Philadelphia Union have disappointed in recent weeks . The Union have failed to find the back of the net in their last two games and have given up 23 shots in them 2 matches , which is not a great combination.
However the Union are unbeaten at home and San Jose Earthquakes have conceded 3 goals in their last away game . Philadelphia and Sapong will be looking to week 6 to get their seasons back on track and to ease the goal scoring drought .
