With the break and USMNT action, Best XI analysis is being cut a bit short for this round. Given NYRB’s recent form and the fact they are on a DGW in Round 15, it’s crazy not to load up while you can. The defensive unit is unchanged with some of the best value options heading down the stretch. The rest are filled with solid options that are safe picks to always snag a few bonus points.
Goalkeeper – Blake $5.0 PHI
Defender – Glad $5.1 DAL
Defender – Gullien $4.0 DAL
Midfielder – Steinberger $4.0 HOU
Forward – Hollinger-Janzen $4.5 NE
Breaking away from the Round 13 pool size quickly is what makes Round 14 an ideal moment to use the Wild Card. Getting to stock up on NYRB players a week early could be the biggest payoff of the year. With 6 players returning from bye, this week is poised for lots of solid differentials or the advantage of others taking multiple -4s.
The captain choices this round are difficult. Valeri is always a solid option but a tough road game at RSL rules him out. Drogba vs Columbus is very tempting, but the safe bets are Kljestan or BWP at home. Take your pick there and trust your gut.
