DiffeRANCHals: 2026 Week 6

Introduction

Welcome back to diffeRANCHals season 5! I can’t believe we already are at 5 consecutive seasons of doing an article about differentials. I wouldn’t have been able to continue for this long without the support of all of the readers along with the contributors who have stepped up to help out. This season is going to be a little bit different compared to previous season due to the divide among locations of where people are playing the fantasy MLS games. For this reason, Meg and I will be focusing on differentials with Kickbase while Matt is focusing on FUTD and xChandyo will be joining the team to write about Sofascore. We’re so excited for this season and hopefully all of you are too. Let’s get into it!

Tyler: Jefferson Diaz- -7 Meg:  Jack Elliot – 58

 Patrick Yazbek  – 51 Martin Ojeda- 163

Morgan Guilavogui- 130 Ousseni Bouda- 46

2 Lime, 7 Orange 6 Lime, 4 Orange

Ranch: Kai Trewin, $12.4 (Defender – NYCFC)

If you’re looking for a consistent point scorer with a high ceiling, take a look at Kai Trewin. Playing with NYCFC, Trewin has had great opportunities both up the field and on the defensive side of things. This week NYCFC is hosting St. Louis at Yankee Stadium. Any time that they’re at home, I expect low goals against or potential clean sheets. Keep your eyes towards him!

Meg: David Schnegg, $10.8m (Defender – Charlotte FC)

This is bold pick but hear me out. He played 21mins last match and managed to get a goal I think there is a strong chance that we will see Schnegg in the starting lineup. They are hosting a Philly team who hasn’t found their way to cohesive play, which makes Schnegg worth consideration this week.

Meg: Juan Manuel Sanabria, $35.3m (Midfielder –  RSL)

Sanabria has been steady on points all season, staying north of 100 for 3 out of the 4 matches he has played. This week they host SKC. With how the entire RSL team has been playing, I think their attack will drive and Sanabria will be a part of that action.

Ranch: Paxton Aaronson, $22.2m (Midfielder – Colorado)

Paxton has been the metronome for Colorado so far this year. Although he has had 2 down weeks, the other 3 weeks were absolutely fantastic for him. With a long trip to Toronto, the Rapids are going to be looking to Paxton to help them get a result.

Ranch: Morgan Guilavogui, $23.7m (Forward – RSL)

Let’s run it back for another week. Guilavogui was a good pick for me the first time, so why not try again? This week RSL and Guilavogui are hosting SKC, which is a great opportunity for him to continue his scoring streak.

Meg: Luca Langoni, $13.3m (Forward – New England Revs)

Langoni has been pushing the Revs attack and has snagged several assists per game. This week they are at home hosting Montreal. Will it be another one of those weeks where he gets multiple assist? Or will it be one in which he lands a goal…maybe both…who knows =]

Matt’s FUTD Differentials

International break is over and after a great differential week, let’s get back to it.

Week Results: 13, 8, 19

Matt: Kai Trewin, $3.5 (Defender – NYCFC)

St. Louis seem to have improved since last year’s disaster, but their attack is still fairly meh. NYC have been one of the best teams in the east and Trewin seems to have a high floor. I like this match for a sneaky CS shout, but Trewin could score 5-6 even with conceding a goal or two.

Matt: Lewis Morgan, $6m (Midfielder – San Diego)

San Diego has a few pieces out and they are going to have to adjust their lineup. What better time to get Lewis Morgan his first MLS start of the season? The former NYRB attacker has a high ceiling when he’s on the field and with the pieces San Jose are missing, this could be a high scoring affair that Morgan benefits from.

Matt: Stas Korzeniowski $3m (Forward – Philadelphia)

I’m going to be honest, picking forwards has gotten hard. Korzeniowski has been getting more minutes for Philly in MLS play and might just be a stash option for the next few week to see what happens because this team has been bad. I’d Carnell needs to figure out a new look to this team, Korzeniowski might be the fresh blood to boost that front line.

Chandyo’s SofaScore Differentials

Dorsey finished with 3 last week against Monteal. Vassilev failed me badly with a -1. I however got a win with Joveljic as he ended the week with a goal and a score of 8.

Week Results: 3, -1, 8

Season Results: 2 Great, 3 Good, 1 Average, 6 Bust

Detail the ranking system, here is the metric: bust = 3 or fewer points (or did not play), average = 4-5 points, good = 6-8 points, great = 9+ points.

Chandyo: DEF – Harry Toffolo (4.6) (CLT) – Charlotte is at Home against the struggling shield winners, Philly. Toffolo is cheaper and has low ownership at 0.9%. I think he’s got a solid floor here with GW4 being 8, and last week before the break a 12. I Think he can continue that again this week.

Chandyo: MID – Joaquin Valiente (6.0M) (FCD) – Okay so I tried the Valiente pick earlier this season only to be let down as he didn’t play. Going to try it again this week. DC is the opponent. Now would like this a bit more if Dallas was at home but DC is still DC. Although I am higher than most on DC. Valiente had an Assist last game week and some BPs for Key Passes, think maybe he is finally starting to settle in at Dallas.

Chandyo: FWD – Wessam Abou Ali (5.5) (CLB) – I know I’m going with another road player but ATL defense has been super ugly in my opinion. WAA is cheap and should be able to find a goal I think with Chambost back heathier and able to feed him and Rossi Abou Ali should get some BP somehow. Columbus is still looking for a Win the season and this matchup feels like where they could get that W – might be my homeism kicking in though.
