KFC MLS Fantasy Game and Form Difficulty Charts: Week 8 – Week 13

Last week I mentioned that we were working on a chart that displayed Home Form and Away Form separately. If you frequent r/FantasyMLS, you may have seen the preview. Well, the final draft is finished. I hope everyone likes it and finds it helpful.

These charts displays how difficult the next 6 games will be for a team. Difficulty is ranked from 1 to 5 (1 easiest 5 hardest) and an advantage is given to a team that is playing at home.

The chart can be read as: Team “X” on the left is playing Team “Y” in a Game Week at Home or Away. Double games will also be included when they come up. Chart inspired by Fantasy Football Mad.

  1. I’m not sure if I understand these charts. For example, in the first chart (Game Difficulty Chart), KC has two double GW’s in their next 6 GW’s. Additionally, it looks like they only have one tough away game at DCU. If that is the case, why are they near the bottom (which means most difficult next 6 GW’s?)? One would think that the teams with byes in their schedule would be further down the difficulty schedule since they will get no points during those GW’s with byes. Any assistance, much appreciated.

    • In the SKC case, they play some difficult games in the DGWs.

The chart works by assigning a number to the projected difficulty of a match. These numbers are added and the result corresponds to a percentage which represents difficulty.

For DGWs, the numbers are added and divided by 2. Bye weeks are factored in a zero.

It has been suggested before that there is a flaw with how teams on a Bye are factored in. I am open to modifying the current system, but would prefer to wait until next season.

That’s why there is a form chart though. SKC is much higher on that and teams have different difficulty values. It’s purely based on how they are playing.

      I hope that helps.

  2. Is there anyway to get bigger charts? I appreciate all the hard work you put into this but I have difficulty reading the charts.
