KFC Team Week 10

Keep reading for the breakdown of our transfers.

Week 9 summary

Well crap. That’s about the best way to sum up last week for the KFC team. With so much invested in defenders that are from the same team, the goals against Kansas City and Dallas really hurt. Two players got red cards and Hamid was up to his normal, disappointing, self. But at least we finished above average, which would be the real insult that could be added to our injury. So week 10 was all about putting this behind us.

Week 10 Changes

Unfortunately, last week I missed a lot of games because I moved and had problems with my connection. So no MLS Live for me. Because of this, I just got bits and pieces of game reports. The one that stuck out was the Davis Red Card. I did not realize it was two yellows and thought he was going to miss more than one game. This was one of the big motivating factors in our trades this week.

There were two players that needed to be addressed, Jackson and Davis (see above). Maintaining GW11 coverage was still important so the decision was made to swap them for players who would have two games in week 11 and who were looking like they would gain some value before then. So we added Will Johnson and Ricardo Clark. Johnson is not our favorite Portland midfielder, but he’s hot and has increased out value. Ricardo Clark was also a value move, but he has not worked out so well since may people decided to just bench Davis (though they have similar points so this may work out OK).

Finally, later in the week we decided taking a -4 now was going to help us in the long run. Hamid was about to drop again (to his original value) and Perkins was about to rise. Since we want Perkins as our DGW keeper, and have a range for our successful planned transfers, the Net $0.2m loss was not going to work. So we brought in Troy Perkins now.

All that is left is the captain. For most of the week it was Zusi. But after looking at some stats and some discussion at r/FantasyMLS, we decided to give Aurélien Colli a shot. We feel good about the chance of a clean sheet against Chivas and really hope this move will let us make up some of the ground we lost last week.

Week 11 Prep

If you’ve been following, you know we’ve been prepping for a while now. Next week we plan to bring back a 3rd Dallas player and take a look at our front line. Henry does not like Turf so he’s almost sure to not play 2 games next week.

So that’s the KFC team for Week 10. What do you think? How did your team do? Have any questions for us? Want input on your team? Stop by r/FantasyMLS and post. There are many good members who can help out with questions. We are also now on Twitter @FantasyMLSTips. Feel free to tweet us too.
