KFC’s Fantasy MLS Forward picks – Week 7

Forwards

Week 6 was kind to forwards with 8 players scoring a total of 10 goals. This includes a few players who had been suffering from a bit of a scoring drought. Week 7 could be a little better for forwards, but there are a few who are still worth taking a risk on. But how many forwards do you need? We’d love to hear what formations you are running. Leave a reply or post in the Week 7 Forwards thread at r/FantasyMLS.

Big 3
Chris Wondolowski (POR v SJ), Federico Higuaín (MON vs CLB), and Robert Earnshaw (PHI vs TOR).

Keep reading for the rest.

Robbie Keane (Los Angeles) vs Dallas
Price: $10.5m
Owned by: 20%

Our most expensive, most popular, and easily one who would be in the big 4 is Keane. We know this is a no-brainer after he started and played a full 90 for LA against Monterrey yesterday. He did not have a lot of opportunities in that game, but he’s back and will be ready to go against Dallas in their away game this weekend. If you are not quite happy with this matchup, Henry could easily fill this spot since he has a double game next week.

Juan Agudelo (Chivas) vs Colorado
Price: $8.3m
Owned by: 11.6%

Agudelo has scored 2 goals and earned 1 assist this season, and that is enough to make him the 5th highest scoring forward so far this season. He’s also under $9.0m, so if you’re someone who wants to play with more than 1 forward, Agudelo has some great value. Chivas will be hosting Colorado this week, and we think that matchup favors Chivas.

Ryan Johnson (Portland) vs San Jose
Price: $8.2m
Owned by: 10.1%

Our third pick was a tough one simply because we are not impressed by many forwards and several good one are injured. But, one of the hot players of this week, if you are trying to build your value, Johnson has already gone up by $0.2 since last week (thanks to his 2 goals). He’s in good form and Portland will be playing at home this week. San Jose will not be an easy game, but they have not been very lucky on the road.

Differential

Jack McInerney (Philidelphia) vs Toronto
Price: $8.0m
Owned by: 4.8%

McInerney is cheap, has low ownership, and has scored 3 goals in 5 games. We were a little surprised to see that his ownership was less than 5%. With no double game weeks, he may not be a popular pick, but a home game against Toronto makes him a good differential pick.

These are my picks, if you think there should be more names on this list, please leave a comment or come to r/FantasyMLS and comment on the post. You can also leave a message on our Facebook page. Keep checking back for more updates through the week for other positions.
