Here are our keeper picks for week 16.

This article is going to be short and sweet this week. Week 16 is a double game week and Keepers are a position that we think are well suited to benefit from double games. But I don’t want to give away too mu right now.
Keepers
As was mentioned in our article “How many double game payers do you really need?” we think defensive players have the best chance to benefit from double games (or at least the most consistent). This includes keepers. Week 16 has four teams that have double games, and several of those teams have keepers that should be tempting for any manager In fact, it would be surprising if you did not have one of these keeper already.
In no particular order, the keepers to focus on this week are Clint Irwin, Donovan Ricketts, and Troy Perkins. Going into this week, Colorado actually has the best records when it comes to goals conceded. They are also playing teams that don’t have a high scoring history. It may be strange to suggest, but Clint Irwin has a chance to be the best scoring keeper this week. Donovan Ricketts looks like he should be back for the Portland game this weekend. That will be a big boost as Portland goes into one of the harder double game pairs of the week. Portland has a good home record for clean sheets and respectable away one, but Dallas and LA have good scoring records so it will be a challenge, but with risk comes reward right? Montreal’s goals conceded record is not quite as good as Portland’s, but their opponents scoring record is only average. Troy Perkins and the Montreal defense have shown that they have a lot of skill, and if they can find some of their old form, they could give good returns.
Vancouver is the fourth team with a double game, and two home games for that fact! You’d think that would make their keeper a top pick but… Brad Knighton has started the last three games and has conceded six goals; this is not really much better than Joe Cannon. The New England game could prove a little challenging, but the Chivas game looks promising. So this could be a good pick if you don’t mine the bye next week.
Final thoughts
• Double game keepers are better than single
• Do the numbers lie for Irwin’s chances?
• Keane back for LA is a big attacking boost.
That’s all I got. I’d love to hear your feedback, plans, and insights.
