KFC’s MLS Fantasy Captain picks – Week 12

captain-MLSI don’t know about you, but we thought picking captains this week was a bit difficult. How nice it was a few weeks ago when everyone thought you could just park the captain on Zusi. But that is not the reality we live in now that we are 11 weeks into the MLS season. This week is a mini double game week (Philly and LA) so naturally, those players will rise to the top of our options list, but a few single game match ups do look promising.

Keep reading to see who our picks are.

Options

  • Chris Wondolowski
It looks like Chavez will be back for this game and so are the Bash Brothers. So Wondo could have a good chance to get a goal(s) this week.
  • Graham Zusi
Even though his popularity is going down, SKC are playing DC this week. Out of five games, DC has allowed 11 goals and have won zero of their last six games.
  • Brad Davis
New England struggles on the road so Davis could have a nice shot unless some other Houston midfielders continue to share the spotlight.
  • LA Players
I’m sorry, we just don’t feel good about LA away. It does look like Landon and Keane will be back and that Dunivant could also return, so that could help a lot! BUT, Form wise, LA and Philly are similar (thus our 50/50 shot) and New York have been doing very well at home. It just looks too risky for an LA cap.
  • Forced LA Pick
If you make me do it. I’d say avoid the LA defense. Donovan is the standout for me if I have to pick someone from LA.

Top 3

  • Jack McInerney
I like his shot at scoring in the Chicago game and it’s just hard to say what will happen in the LA game, but the chance does exist for points. J Mac also has the most goals and 4th most shots on goal.
  • Graham Zusi
The DC game is just too tempting to not consider him for a captain.
  • Amobi Okugo
As mentioned earlier, Okugo is the conservative pick. Two games with consistent bonus point numbers could see him return 20-22 points as a captain.

Runner-up

  • Chris Wondolowski
If everyone is back to support Wondo this week, he could run away with it.

So who do you think is a must have? Vote now and let everyone know.
