KFC’s MLS Fantasy Keeper picks – Week 8 (Double Game Special)

 Keepers

Welcome to a special edition of the KFC Keeper picks. Since there is a Wednesday game this week, thinks have to get finished sooner. Also, since there are teams (NY and SKC) who have double games this week, our recommendations are going reflect that.

If you are looking for double game coverage, and already have a NY or SKC keeper, that’s great! If you do not, we are not recommending getting one. Other positions have a better ability to generate bonus points, but If you don’t get 2 clean sheets with your keeper, that can be a problem. So keep that in mind.

Big 3
Bill Hamid (DC v PHI), Nick Rimando (RSL vs CHV), and Jimmy Nielsen (DGW).

Keep reading for the rest.

Jimmy Nielsen (Kansas City) vs New York/Los Angeles
Price: $6.0m
Owned by: 13.1%

Yes he’s in the Big 3, but he also plays 2 games this week. Even though both of these games are away, Nielsen and the SKC defense are guys you can still feel good about. New York has found a bit of form recently and LA is a bit off its form. Both of these games should be interesting.

Luis Robles (New York) vs Kansas City/New England
Price: $5.5m
Owned by: 2.1%

Just like Nielsen, Robles has a double game week. The New York schedule looks easier than SKC’s so Robles could pay off for you if you have him. He’s also playing 2 home games and New York is starting to find a bit of form. So he could pay off if you have him.

Clint Irwin (Colorado) vs Seattle
Price: $4.4m
Owned by: 7.3%

For those of you who jumped at the chance to get Irwin a few weeks ago, well played. He’s had a couple of big point games and has been great for building team value. Colorado at home this week against Seattle, who have had a DREADFUL start to the season! It’s hard not to like this matchup.

Differential

Luis Robles (New York) vs Kansas City/New England
Price: $5.5m
Owned by: 2.1%

Yup, Robles again. Did you notice his 2.1% ownership? He has a double game week this week and in week 8. So he could be a nice differential target for the future.
