MLS Injury News: GW 30

Who going to play? Who’s out injured? Who just needs to be rested? These are questions that all MLS Fantasy Manager fans have to deal with and the information we want is not always available as quickly as we like. Enter @MLSInjuryNews. Each week, Michael collects all the news he can from around the MLS world about who’s going to play and who’s not. Before each round starts, Michael posts all of his information here in one easy to scan through article.

Notable Fantasy Players

• Giovinco: Today Vanney said he was “very questionable.” Giovinco still hasn’t reached the original timeline for getting back, and I just don’t see him getting rushed back with a huge break in front of TFC.
• Giovani Dos Santos: Trained. Should be good to go
• Gerrard: Was questionable, which for LA players is a sure sign to stay away.
• Lampard: Out 3-4 weeks with a left calf injury that Lampard described as not as serious as previous injuries. I’d still be surprised based on that timeline if he appears again for the Pigeons prior to the Playoffs.
• Plata: Left training with “a slight quadriceps pull.” Questionable
• Yura Movsisyan-Right heel contusion after an awkward collision with Justen Glad’s knee in training (Cassar said he’s “surprised Justen isn’t hurt worse” but it seems like Glad trained FYI). Is questionable.
• Jorales-No update on if he’ll be available to play after his quad injury but did some training
• Toia: left with a hamstring injury from his last match. Usually with hamstrings, I assume they miss a week or two.
• Sjoberg-I don’t understand how he’s not suspended, but he’s not suspended for yellow card accumulation. Only put on warning.
• Barnetta-missed some training with swelling in the knee but expected to go this weekend.
• DeLeeuw-questionable after missing last week’s match; did some training
• Joevin Jones-limited in training but said to be training.

Other Players

• Zubar: Will miss 2-3 weeks after a hernia surgery
• Mancosu-Day to day with tightness in his back
• Chanot-Out for Friday
• Yaro-suffered a concussion so may be out with injury anyway, but he also got a red in his last match so he’s definitely not playing.
• Cooper-suspended for red card
• Melano-Out
• Vytas-Out with rib injury
• Evans-Missed some training but “available for selection.”
