MLS Injury News Week 20

The injuries aren’t quite as bad this week as some weeks in the past. Bigger issue this week will guessing the rotations after the midweek US Open Cup matches.

Injuries

• Gerrard-Reportedly out this week for an undisclosed injury
• Ashley Cole-Earlier this week, it sounded like he was returning, but not now. He’s out.
• Kaka-will play!
• Jermaine Jones-“Right leg injury.” No word if that means he’s out or not.
• Besler-out with week with a knee injury. Vermes has claimed it’s not severe, but he’ll also miss the All-Star Game.
• Coelho-Did a training workout, but unlikely for Sunday
• Zusi-probable for Sunday.
• Altidore-Likely to appear on Saturday for TFC.
• Ciman-probably out.
• Iraola-Appears fine to go after coming out early in the Montreal match.
• Matarritta & Mendoza-Listed as questionable after missing some match time the past few weeks
• Ridgewell-kept out of some training this week but should be fine for Saturday. [UPDATE: APPARENTLY NOT. RIDGEWELL IS NOW OUT FOR SATURDAY. WILL ALSO MISS THE ALL STAR GAME]
• Higuain-*may* appear on Saturday, but he’s clearly nearing a comeback after his sports hernia surgery

Discipline

• Alonso-suspended for Yellow Card accumulation
• Godoy, Quintero, and Afful-Red cards have been rescinded, will be available to play this weekend.
• Ilsinho-Not so lucky, he’s suspended this week for his red card.
