MLSFB Player Roundup – Round 24

I have nothing fun to say about Round 24 because I’m still so devastated by the poor performance that my team put up last week. So much so that  used my Wild Card this week and have given my team a face lift.

Let’s break things down each position.

Keepers:

The way I see it, you have 3 options this week. Jon Busch (Co highest scoring Keeper so far), Stefan Frei (cheapest of the 3) and Jaime Panedo (fewest goals conceded). For me, Panedo is the top option because of all of the double game weeks that LA has coming up, but all three are good options.

Defenders:

With the injury to Moor, many people we be looking for a new premium defender (if you had not already dropped him). Two great options for this week are the now healthy Chad Marshall and the oh so expensive Omar Gonzalez. Both have double game weeks and both are great for CBI numbers. If you want to go crazy, you could stick with Matt Hedges who could get a lot of bonus points going up against RSL or Liam Ridgewell who’s been a nice CBI magnet recently.

Otherwise, just stick with the 2014 standers strategy of cheap defenders and save that money for your attackers.

Midfielders:

There are several new names to keep your eye on in the Midfield range, and they have the added bonus of helping you spread your money around to other areas if you want. Here are three guys to consider who come in at under $7m. Luis Silva has been playing very well since moving from Toronto to DC and is a key part of their offense. Fabian Castillo is starting to tap into that form he had in preseason and has helped catapult Dallas to the top of the form charts. Finally, Ethan Finlay has been a bright spot for Columbus recently and could grab a few more points with the easier schedule they have coming up.

On the high side, From LA, I’d have to go with Gyasi Zardes over Landon Donoval this week, but I’d stick with Clint Dempsey when it comes to Seattle. I’m also a fan of Shea Salinas, even with two away games. So maybe these are not all in the premium price range, but with the fire sale on the Morales’ some DGW variety over the next couple of weeks could pay off.

Forwards:

You could say it’s the usual suspects when it comes to forwards this week. Robbie Keane is my top DGW pick and Bradley Wright-Phillips is just too good to not play against Montreal. Chris Wondolowski rounds out my top three because he’s been getting good results since he came back from Brazil.

Did I miss any players that should be on this list? Please leave us a comment. You can also send a message to me on Twitter @MLSFantasyBoss, or join the Live Chat in the sidebar. Keep checking back for more updates throughout the week. Good Luck!
