A massive double-game week during an international break is peak MLS. At least they gave us a weekend off to prepare.
Christian previously covered the basic DGW strategies, so I won’t rehash those here. This DGW is a bit trickier than others due to all the international absences and small break for most teams. We can’t necessarily rely on form, as lineups won’t be full strength, and some players might be either tired from international play and travel, or might have lost some match fitness due to lack of playing time. I can guarantee we will see some frustrating rotation and early substitutions. It’s always a good idea to check lineups and have backup plans in place, but this round makes it especially important. The Wednesday night schedule also makes switcheroos and bench plays a lot trickier to navigate.
This is a great opportunity to check out the MLSFB Discord if you haven’t already. Even if you’ve checked and double checked your lineup, it’s always helpful to get the community’s eyes on it because someone might catch something you missed and help you avoid catastrophe (beyond the usual #BecauseMLS, that is). It’s a fantastic and passionate community, and a big reason why I enjoy playing the MLS Fantasy game as much as I do.
Big shout out to Brandon on Discord for putting together this list of international call-ups:
Teams on a DGW:

Home + Away: COL, MIN, STL, VAN

Teams on a SGW: ATX, DCU, LAFC, MIA, NYC, POR, RSL, SEA
Note:(?) means the player might not start due to injury, lack of fitness, availability status or loss of starting spot. (OOP) means the player is expected to play out of position.
