MLS Fantasy Round 25 was probably more difficult to navigate than most managers would’ve preferred. Even longtime veterans of the fantasy game felt a significant measure of uncertainty once starting lineups were announced, and it became clear that we’d have to make some tough decisions. It was mainly due to heavy rotation for Leagues Cup, but there were also some unexpected starts by new signings who we couldn’t select for our fantasy teams because they weren’t in the player database yet. Hopefully these guys get added sooner than later.
Eight teams are on a bye in Round 26, which shrinks the fantasy-viable player pool even further and forces us into picking common players. I don’t expect much rank movement this week, but I’m certain a few bold managers will get lucky by picking the right differentials. This is the kind of round where throwing a couple of sleeper picks on your bench can really pay off – if only we had more viable fallbacks to enable those switcheroos. It’s a personal choice how you handle the round, but unless you’re willing to abandon players on your bench before their matches end, I’d suggest going with the autoroo.
Teams on a DGW: None
Teams on a BYE: CHI, DAL, LAG, MIA, ORL, SEA, SJE, VAN
Note:(?) means the player might not start due to injury, lack of fitness, availability status or loss of starting spot. (OOP) means the player is expected to play out of position. (+) means the player is ranked only if they become available for selection before their match locks.
