Playtime Analysis – 2016 Round 10

Keep checking back through the week as this post will be updated when injury reports come out

Playtime Analysis is a weekly overview offering useful tips for the coming weeks about players that aren’t going to be getting their usual time on the pitch.  Whether it be value subs, injured stars, or international absences, you can find it here in Playtime Analysis.

Worra $3.9 DC: The cheap starter’s time is coming to an end. Throughout the broadcast of the NYC/DC game, talk was directed at the return of Bill Hamid within the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for that and start looking at the alternatives such as Lampson, Rowe, or Blake.

Glad $5.3 RSL: Spending money on defense isn’t the prime strategy for this game, so finding cheap backups that are playing generally helps. RSL’s Glad has been an excellent option throughout the season and at $5.3 he fits the role of a cheap starter. With Maund currently injured, he’s going to continue to get minutes. He also happens to be the teams leading fantasy defender ahead of both Maund and Olave.

McNamara $7.3 NYC: McNamara has now started three games at left wing, going 90 minutes once. In those three games, he’s scored 9, 5, and 7 points with an assist in each. This switch and a DGW week make him one of the best midfield options at the price.

Kudo $8.0 VAN: Vancouver has struggled all season to get goals from open play and from their forwards. With Manneh and Rivero both absent, it was Kudo who got the start and finished the game with a goal and an assist. With all the struggles, his performance against the defending champs may be enough to earn him the starting spot for a few weeks. He would be a gamble for the DGW, but one that could very easily pay off.

Bonus Information: Peter Vermes is on record blasting some of his players saying “I think there were certain players that absolutely hindered us throughout the game”. Given the tone, it’s likely that anyone who is hindering the team may find a spot on the bench for the DGW.
