Playtime Analysis – 2016 Round 4

Playtime-Analysis-BannerPlaytime Analysis is a weekly overview offering useful tips for the coming weeks about players that aren’t going to be getting their usual time on the pitch.  Whether it be value subs, injured stars, or international absences, you can find it here in Playtime Analysis.

Melia $5.5 SKC: With two shutouts so far, Melia is tied for 2nd among GKs. If not for two lazy PK attempts that Shuttleworth saved, Melia would be sitting in first with Rowe and Blake. The reason Melia’s name is coming up now is that he has 3 DGW weeks coming up starting in round 6. If you are in need of a GK or using a wildcard, the SKC keeper should be near the top of your list.

Kemp $7.6 DC: Kemp has quietly had a solid fantasy season but his team and price have him seeing less play than several others. Heading into the DGW where he is projected to play both games, Kemp has become and an asset and somewhat of a differential pick. The price tag isn’t too big of an issue either, especially for managers attempting to shift to another defender soon. There are plenty of cheap options he can be turned into and enough similar value players that could fill his spot.

Endoh $5.4 TFC: Tsubasa Endoh has yet to be feature in this series because he’s a player that I’ve feared would not continue to earn starts. After watching his play against SKC, it’s time that changed. This rookie comes in with the typical rookie price tag and the potential to be a game changer. He would have opened his MLS account against SKC if it wasn’t for the brilliant reaction of Tim Melia. The shot still rattled the crossbar. He’s a definite watch list player and priced right for a switcheroo.

Sapong $8.1 PHI: While it’s usually not the greatest decision to chase a player coming off a major fantasy week, Sapong is one that is going to need some serious thought considering his next match is against Chicago. If you run three forwards, he would be a great addition for the week. He may not beat out Giovinco, Villa, and Urruti for best options this round, but he’s definitely there as a cheaper alternative to the first two.

Non-Injury Absences

To clear up any rumors, Larin, Jorales, and Moor all missed time due to illness, not to injury. They are all expected to be available for the next round.

Suspensions Galore

If there are any doubts about keeping an RSL player, it’s time to bail. Three players will be unavailable against an undefeated SKC. Prices should hold or drop throughout the squad.
