Round 10 in the MLS is here, So I have taken a look at the best options to make your Fantasy captain this week. Picking the right captain this week , could see you claw back points on the leaders of your league , or even extend the gap at the top. Here’s my top four picks for this week.
Carlos Vela / LAFC / $13 Million / vs Dallas
Carlos Vela would have been disappointed not to score on his home debut last weekend , however the forward is in front of his home fans in week 10 against FC Dallas .Vela did play the full 90 and is in good form after scoring and assisting a goal in week 8. Last week may not have been Vela’s best performance , but he still played a large part of the game . The forward made three key passes and was fouled 6 times ,showing the Seattle defence struggled to contain Vela. This Week LAFC face Dallas who have been a inconsistent side this year . FCD come in to this game of a back of a 3-1 defeat to NYCFC. Dallas have conceded 3 goals in their two away games and , this game may be the best time for Vela and LAFC to show the LAFC fans what they are all about this season.
Dom Dwyer / Orlando City / $11.5 Million / vs RSL
Dom Dwyer’s run of scoring in every league game he has played in this season ended last week to Colorado. However the forward has 5 goals for the season and has one of the best goals per minute ratio in the MLS this year. Dwyer’s is averaging more than 8 points a week for fantasy managers , it was closer to 10 before week 9s game. Which is impressive from the striker. This week Orlando host Real salt Lake , who come off the back off a 2-0 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps. The result who boost Orlando confidence of taking all three points in week 10 , and maybe put on a show for the home fans. As RSL have concede 6 goals in their last 2 away games, which should mean Dwyer is given plenty of chances to add to his season tally.
David Villa / NYCFC / $10.7 Million / vs New York Redbulls
David Villa is a big game player and the New York derby is certainly a big game. Last week Villa really impressed as he scored a brace against FC Dallas in a 3-1 for NYCFC. The forward started the season well then suffered an injury which kept him out of the team for 3 weeks . since his return in week 7 Villa has been inconsistent two big games where he scored and assisted goals and two very quiet games from the Spaniard. However Villa will be motivated to continue his good form from week 9 and put in a big performance in the derby. The Redbulls have conceded 4 goals in their last two games so Villa should be looking forward to coming up against the Redbulls this week.
Carlos Darwin Quintero / Minnesota United / $10.5 Million / vs Vancouver – Wildcard
Carlos Darwin Quintero has impressed since his arrival to the league in week 7 , two goals and one assist for the midfielder has really fulled the creative void Minnesota had after the injuries to key players earlier in the season. Its the perfect time to play an out of form Vancouver side . The whitecaps have lost 4 league games in a row , conceding 12 goals during his poor run and Minnesota and Quintero will be looking to heap more misery on the Whitecaps in week 10.
