Round 17 in the MLS gets underway today, So I have taken a look at the best options to make your Fantasy captain this week. Picking the right captain this week , could see you claw back points on the leaders of your league , or even extend the gap at the top. Here’s my top four picks for this week.
Maxi Moralez / NYCFC / $12.0 million / Toronto
Maxi Moralez has hit double figures in fantasy points in the last two weeks. A 16-point tally in round 16 was followed up by a 10-point game in NYCFC’s 1-1 draw with Atlanta last week.
NYCFC face a Toronto side who have slightly picked up form, they are unbeaten in three games. However defensively the Canadian side are a real mess, they conceded four goals against DC United last time out and have conceded seven goals in their last three matches. So Moralez should have plenty of chances to continue his good form.
Miguel Almiron / Atlanta / $13.6 million / vs Portland
Miguel Almiron earned fantasy owners seven points last week, in Atlanta’s 2-0 win over Columbus Crew. Though the midfielder has extended his goal scoring drought to eight games in the MLS.
Since Almiron’s double against Montreal in week 9, the Paraguayan has only managed to reach double figures in fantasy points twice and in the last eight weeks he has average a less than impressive 6.5 fantasy points. Atlanta face Portland in round 17. United will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run to four games and Almiron will be hoping to end his goal scoring drought. But he is a player of real quality and if Atlanta win and play well I would expect Almiron to be a key man for them.
Bradley Wright-Phillips / NY Redbulls / $11.3 million vs Dallas
The Englishman scored in Redbulls’s 2-1 win over Seattle last week, taking his total for the season in to double figures with 10. However, he is still four goals behind top scorer Josef Martinez who has 14.
BWP and the Redbulls face a tough task in round 17 against FC Dallas. Who have only lost once this season in the league and have won four on the bounce coming into this game. However, there is hope for the forward as Dallas have failed to keep a clean sheet in four out of their last six games.
Sacha Kljestan / Orlando / $8.6 million / Montreal ( WildCard)
Sacha Kljestan has average five fantasy points in his last two games and he also managed to score one goal. But his inclusion as a wildcard is mainly due to the impact the new manager may have on his sides form.
Seven straight league defeats have certainly affected the players confidence, but with the new man in charge and a win in the cup during the week. It may be a sign of the tide turning in Florida.
higuain-a.davies,kamara or j.martienz?
Probably Martinez , depending on if he starts . Might be worth checking line ups , could go Villa or Giovinco in the last game . if Martinez is benched due to injury .
ya that it true to because i do have 131 million play with right know to.i do have zardes ciman and cullen on my bench to
