2018 Round 4 Captain’s conundrum

Round 4 in the MLS gets underway tomorrow, So I have taken a look at the best options to make your Fantasy captain this week. Picking the right captain this week , could see you claw back points on the leaders of your league , or even extend the gap at the top. Here’s my top four picks for this week.

Round 4 Captain’s conundrum

Bradley Wright-Phillips / New York Red bulls / ($9.4M) vs Minnesota
Bradley Wright-Phillips has only played 44 minutes this season in the MLS. The forward has seen his involvement in league games limited due to his importance to the Red bulls in the champions League. However with champions League football not returning to next month , BWP and New York Redbulls focus will return to the league.
The Redbulls face Minnesota in week 4 and will be looking to give Wright-Phillips his first league start of the season .Minnesota have given up 31 shots on their goal in their last two games and have conceded a goal in all three of their games this season . Wright-phillips should have plenty of opportunities to pick up points this week.

Mauro Diaz / FC Dallas / ($10.4M) / vs Portland Timbers
Mauro Diaz earned fantasy owners eight points in week 3’s 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders, Diaz picked up an assist and a clean sheet bonus last week. This week FC Dallas face an out of from Portland Timbers who are yet to pick up a win of the season.
The Timbers conceded 20 shots against the Redbulls in week 2, and have conceded an less than impressive six goals this season . An average of 3 goals per game so far this year. While FC Dallas have looked impressive going forward, Dallas attempted 20 shots in their last game and Diaz should be heavily involved in week 4’s game.

Federico Higuaín / Columbus Crew / ($11.2M) / vs DC United
Columbus Crew will be looking to continue their good start to the season. Crew have picked up seven points so far and will hope to pick up their third win of the season against DC United. Federico has been one of Crews’ stand out players this year and has earned fantasy owners 23 points so far.
Higuain will fancy his chances of adding to his goal tally this week against a struggling DC side. United are yet to win this season and have conceded five goals in their last two games. So Crew will go in to the game as favourites and should have plenty of the ball ,so Higuain may be very busy in week 4.

Maximiliano Urruti / FC Dallas / ($8.8M) vs Portland Timbers (Wildcard pick)
Maximiliano Urruti earned fantasy owners nine points in week 2. Urruti scored in FC Dallas ‘s 3-0 win over the Sounders. The forward will be hoping to continue his goal scoring run against Portland Timbers in week 4 .
Urruti is not scared to take a shot either, the striker attempted seven shots at Seattle’s goal last week. FC Dallas and Urruti will be hoping to build on last weeks good performance continue his goal scoring form.
