Best XI Predictions – Round 18

Best XI Predictions - Round 18

Did you ever wonder what you could do with a team if you used a Wild Card every week?  In Best XI at $120m, we will explore the options available to brand new players as well as those using a Wild Card as we predict the rounds Dream Team. Along with the best players by round matchup, players with the best upcoming schedules will take precedence over similarly priced players.

With Round 18 being the reset for player wildcards and Round 19 being a free wildcard, the plan is a bit different.  It is in no way advisable to use your Wildcard now as it would be wasted with the free one later this week.  This week, we are going to predict the best XI without regards to value or long term planning.

Starters

Goalkeeper – Robles NYRB: Robles and NYRB haven’t had the show stopping performances they did, but a home match against a Heath-less Orlando gives him the best matchup of the week.

Defender – Zimmerman  DAL: Zimmerman is still dominating the fantasy charts on defense.

Defender – Moor TFC : Moor is the highest regular starter in PP90 on the defensive line.  Why not? Even though he is playing in Columbus, he’s still a great option.

Defender – Hedges DAL: To finish off the defense, it’s Hedges.  He’s been a beast in the air and the favorable matchup against Seattle is more than enough to push him into the best XI.

Defender – Morrow TFC: If anyone is going to accurately predict the entire Best XI, it usually requires doubling up on defenders.  TFC have a great defense most of the time and a stellar performance against Columbus isn’t out of the question.

Midfielder – Piatti MTL: He’s still the second leading scored among midfielders.  It’s hard not to include him.

Midfielder – Diaz DAL: Seattle has a stout defense, but it’s nothing Diaz can’t break down.  He’s been generating BPs when he plays so expect more of the same against a Seattle club that is likely to lose the possession battle to Dallas.

Midfielder – Kljestan  NYRB: Another player that should benefit from the turmoil in Orlando is Kljestan.  Maybe this is the week he gets it back on track.

Midfielder – Feilhaber SKC: In SKC’s 5 game unbeaten streak, Benny hasn’t scored less than 6 points.  A road trip to Chicago is likely to keep that streak going.

Forward – Giovinco TFC: He’s on the road, but it’s Columbus.  Expect goals.

Forward – Movsisyan RSL: Another in form player with a somewhat generous matchup. Yura has been on fire as of late and although he’s travelling to Vancouver, it’s a defense that hasn’t been as water tight as they once were.

 Captain

Feilhaber – A great matchup against Chicago on a surging team.  This is an opportunity for loads of fantasy points.
