Did you ever wonder what you could do with a team if you used a Wild Card every week? In Best XI at $120m, we will explore the options available to brand new players as well as those using a Wild Card as we predict the rounds Dream Team. Along with the best players by round matchup, players with the best upcoming schedules will take precedence over similarly priced players.
Starters
Goalkeeper – Blake $4.9 PHI: Blake is arguably the best keeper without a bye. That alone is worth the inclusion.
Defender – Steres $5.5 LA: The consensus must own defender at this time. No byes and the right price.
Defender – Moor $7.9 TFC: The cheap defenders are on bye and he’s currently the highest scoring defender overall, this just makes sense.
Defender – Campbell $5.1 CHI: No Sjoberg this week so the long time sub is ready to play. Given the recent form of Chicago, it’s getting harder to continually relegate Campbell to the bench.
Midfielder – Piatti $11.4 MTL: Despite Montreal’s lackluster performance against Chicago, they are a formidable opponent for any team.
Midfielder – Gerrard $10.7 LA: 5 points in the last round wasn’t bad. He’s a set and forget player that will gather consistent points with a high ceiling.
Midfielder – Pontius $7.7 PHI: Here’s the first budget option. Without byes, he’s another set and forget type to get through the rough part of the schedule.
Midfielder – Polster $5.4 CHI: Throwing this one in to offest the premium players. If his recent form holds, he’s worth the investment.
Midfielder – Lodeiro $11.8 SEA: The Seattle newcomer is likely a lock for the foreseeable future. Until his form drops, he’s a must own.
Forward – Giovinco $13.7 TFC: He’s on a DGW and consistently one of the highest scorers. How can you not have him.
Forward – Dempsey $11.0 SEA: Sticking to two forwards again because it’s the safest choice. Lodeiro is making Seattle better and that includes Dempsey. Take him against Houston for sure. He’s also an easy switch to Villa or BWP in the next couple of weeks.
Subtotal: $95.1
Subs
Goalkeeper – Bush $5.3 MTL – DGW in Round 28
Defender – Hairston $5.5 COL
Defender – Gullien $4.0 DAL
Forward – Badji $4.5 COL

You’ve got just enough players in this lineup to user 5 transfer to form a solid Round 27 team. While Polster is thrown in for the $120 cap, players should have enough to upgrade this position to a $9.0-10.5 mid.

Take your pick between Giovinco, Lodeiro, and Dempsey here. All three are hot and playing against weaker opponents.
