Starters

Goalkeeper – Bingham $6.1 SJ: A solid matchup for a decent shot stopper. Morris may have scored in three straight, but the rookie can’t keep scoring forever.

Defender – Coelho $7.9 SKC: Vermes’ shift to a 3-4-3 really hurt Coelho, but the team likely won’t stay there. He’s still to top scoring defender in the game.

Defender – Bernardez $7.7 SJ: Just link Bingham, Bernardez is a gamble on the clean sheet. But with the way the season is going, clean sheets are hard to come by.

Defender – Steres $5.2 LA: A cheap option that continues to get the minutes. He’s got more potential than others at the price point

Midfielder – Valeri $10.5: The best BP scoring midfielder in the game. He’s a no brainer with a DGW coming up.

Midfielder – Kljestan 11.5 NYRB: With NYRB finally being relevant, their leading playmaker and set piece taker is virtually a must have. He’s been decent despite the bad performances around him, but now he’s able to meet the premium price tag.

Midfielder – Jones $8.2 COL: As long as he’s playing the 10, Jones is a viable option. The DGW next round makes him a quality pickup moving forward.

Midfielder – McNamara $7.3 NYC: Not enough good can be said about the shift to LW for McNamara. A punt for a DGW could become a staple if he’s going to continue playing the higher role.

Midfielder – Dawkins $8.7 SJ: Dawkins is an interesting pick to fill the spot. He’s producing and taking some set pieces. Maybe not the greatest option, but he certainly fills the role nicely. This pick is as much about the matchup as the player.

Forward – Giovinco (C) $12.4 TFC: Giovinco is still the best option money can buy for an every week guy. With a DGW on the horizon, he has to be included in any squad and considered for captain every week.

Forward – Villa $11.4 NYC: Villa can be hot and cold, but another DGW upcoming makes him a must have.

Captain

Giovinco at home is the most logical choice. There can be arguments made for Valeri or Klejstan who both a bit better BP potential, but a single goal negates all of that. For the purposes of scoring analysis, Giovinco is locked in.
