Keepers

Well here it is, the big bye week. There are only 10 teams playing this week and even fewer keepers that we feel are worth taking a look at. This means there could be a lot of room for a differential pick, but I’d be more concerned with getting a guy with a good clean sheet chance. So, with that in mind…

Keepers

Short writeup this week.

Hands down, the best keeper pick this week is Bobby Shuttleworth ($5.1m @4.1%). The potential New England keeper rotation risk did not seem to be a risk at all and I wish I got this guy earlier. Why is he the best choice? New England has won their last two home games, they have some solid defensive players, and DC has only scored ONE goal on the road. That looks great to me.

After Shuttleworth, there are two keepers that look good, but are playing against teams that have had some success scoring on the road. Michael Gspurning is playing on a recently energized Seattle team and will be going up against Vancouver.  It just takes a look at the final score in the NY game to see that Vancouver may not be as easy as some think (they have not lost in 5 games). Nick Rimando is currently the highest scoring Keeper in the league and does not look like he is much of an international risk. LA looked awful last week so it’s no telling what they bring to this game.

If you want to take more of a risk, you could go with Sean Johnson or Zac MacMath. Both have home games, but could easily give up a goal. We just don’t like the matchups.

Final thoughts

• Home games are great. Keep an eye on those players.

• DC is sooooo bad on the road

• New England has allowed the fewest goals in the league

• Portland has scored the most away goals this season.

That’s all I got. I’d love to hear your feedback, plans, and insights.

These are our picks, if you think there should be more names on this list, please leave a comment or come to r/FantasyMLS and comment on the post.
