KFC’s Fantasy MLS Midfielder picks – Week 6

Midfielders

Not a bad week for midfielders, especially if you play for Kansas City. There are several players who are poised to bring their total points into the 30s this week. Many of these guys are going to be the clear targets for transfer options as double games weeks come up and as managers look for value. Many good options are on a bye this weekend, but there are still several who stand out, especially if they can perform well in an away game.

Big 3
Graham Zusi (SKC v DC) Brad Davis (POR vs HOU), and Sebastien Le Toux (CLB vs PHI).

Keep reading for the rest.

David Ferreira (Dallas) vs Toronto
Price: $9.2m
Owned by: 10.2%

As we’ve already mentioned, Dallas is in good form and has many players that should make the short list for any manager. Ferreira has had an excellent start to the season. His attacking numbers are great and he does get back enough to make grabbing a defensive point or two a possibility. His point to cost value may not be as good as someone like Jackson right now, but we think that this can change over the long run.

Oriol Rosell Argerich (Kansas City) vs DC United
Price: $6.8m
Owned by: 9.7%

This is our value pick for this week. Argerich has had some consistent mid-range numbers since his goal in week 1. He’s obviously not going to give the same returns that Zusi can, but record of earning defensive bonus points could be a bonus against DC. Also, if you sold Zusi when he was on International duty, this could be a cheaper way back into the SKC midfield until you can free up funds.

Dax McCarty (New York) vs Chicago
Price: $8.0m
Owned by: 6.8%

New York has had a rough start this year and are currently in very poor form, but their win last week could be what they need to start to turn things around. Dax is one of the few stand out players for New York right now and many of his points come from defensive bonus point generation, but he does have the potential to goals and assists. This could also be a good time to grab him because New York has a double game week coming up, so you could see a price jump soon/

Differential

Shea Salinas (San Jose) vs Vancouver
Price: $8.0m
Owned by: 1.2%

Salinas is expensive for the amount of points he’s earned, but he has good offensive point generation and is playing a home game against Vancouver who have lost their last couple of games.

These are my picks, if you think there should be more names on this list, please leave a comment or come to r/FantasyMLS and comment on the post. You can also leave a message on our Facebook page. Keep checking back for more updates through the week for other positions.
