MLSFB Player Roundup – Round 27

It’s the last of the big major Double Game weeks so if you’ve been saving your WC, you may want to think about using it before kickoff today. Many teams that are on excellent form are playing this week and that is going to give us some tough match ups all around. This is shaping up to be another big Round for attackers.

I’m keeping it short and sweet this week so let’s break things down each position.

Keepers:

With all of the tough games this round, I’m not sure if having a DGW keeper is going to pay off as much as it has in the past. If you want to roll the dice Jon Busch and David Ousted have a good shot at a decent return. Busch still has some of the lowest overall numbers for allowing goals and Ousted has has had 4 clean sheets in the last 6 games. For a SGW keeper, I’d recommend Bobby Shuttleworth due to the poor away for of Montreal and the great comeback NE has made over the past several games.

Defenders:

I’ll keep this simple. Three men at the back: Ambroise Oyongo, Andy O’Brien, and Dan Garagan. This gives you 3 DGW players, keeps you are a reasonable price, and takes advantage of some good recent form. If you want, you can throw in Omar as a big money player, but only if you have extra money after loading up your midfield.

Midfielders:

Landon Donovan is a must have this week…and last week…and the week before that. It’s foolish to not have him, period. After him, the only other DGW players that excite me are Gyasi Zardes and Lloyd Sam. This being the case, you’ll need 1 -3 SGW players to fill out your roster. Looking at the gams, Portland will be facing an ailing Colorado and that could mean more fantastic point totals from Diego Valeri. I already mention the very poor away form on Montreal above, so I have to include Lee Nguyen on this list. After a rough middle of the season he’s finally starting to again show the attacking form that he started with. Rounding out the list are Graham Zusi and Brad Davis. SKC has been in a slump, and Chivas could be just the team to get them out of it and Houston has been rejuvenated recently and Davis is a key offensive target.

Forwards:

There are 4 forward options as far as I am concerned. Robbie Keane, Bradley Wright-Phillips, Chris Wondolowski, Thierry Henry. You can be cute if you want and play a SGW forward like Martins or Dwyer, but these 4 players are too good to pass up in my opinion.

Did I miss any players that should be on this list? Please leave us a comment. You can also send a message to me on Twitter @MLSFantasyBoss, or join the Live Chat in the sidebar. Keep checking back for more updates throughout the week. Good Luck!
