Playtime Analysis 2016 – Round 17

Playtime-Analysis-Banner

Playtime Analysis is a weekly overview offering useful tips for the coming weeks about players that aren’t going to be getting their usual time on the pitch.  Whether it be value subs, injured stars, or international absences, you can find it here in Playtime Analysis.

Howard $6.1 COL: Howard is included for completeness. the USMNT vet has displaced McMath as the starting keeper in Colorado and earned his first shutout of the season. For good or ill, it looks like Colorado is going with the name. McMath may have benefitted from having a stout defense in front of him, which will transition to Howard, or Colorado’s defense may implode without their general in the back.

Zimmerman $6.6 DAL: It can’t be stressed enough how important this player is right now. He’s the second highest scoring defender behind Sjoberg, plus he’s got a game in round 18.

DC Midfield: Neagle and Sarvas are the fantasy headliners in the United midfield so far. This might be somewhat surprising with names like Nyarko, Rolfe, and, to a lesser extent, DeLeon. The addition of Lloyd Sam is bound to have an impact on everyone with the team, be it playing time or added/lost chances.

Rubio $7.9 SKC: With Dom Dwyer suspended, Rubio will play for SKC. In his few appearances in 2016, he’s shown he can find the net and handle the pressure. There definitely the potential for goals with a home game against NYC .

Transfer Warning

Lloyd Sam has been transferred from NYRB to DC United. It may take a while for him to adjust. Since the last posting, Poku has been sold to an NASL side by NYCFC. Vancouver have also parted ways with Octavio Rivero as he heads to Liga MX
